TV Substituion
« on: July 19, 2010, 08:02:41 PM »
As many of you know, but probably don't care, I'm going to college in the fall. (Insert Applause Here), However, I'm being cheap, and don't really want to spend 300 dollars for a TV, so, I thought to my self, how can I watch TV, through only a cable input. (Coax) cheaply, I have a laptop, but would prefer to not be tethered to the wall. Any thoughts, any at all, are appreciated, the SlingBox is out, because it doesn't have a cable input or something, Bestbuy is stupid, IDK. Help!

you really don't have many options. best thing i can suggest is use a desktop with a tv tuner card and then remote into the desktop from your laptop. though at which point, since you're in the same room, just watch tv on the desktop.

He doesn't, I think I figured it out, the original SlingBox has the right port. So there we go, 60 bucks on Ebay.
