Portable Hard Drive anyone?
« on: January 02, 2009, 07:07:34 PM »
250gb, PATA drive. Built it for a customer, and they canceled the job... :'(

So, anyone want it at cost!? ;D

$75 for the HD, Enclosure (already put together w/HD) power cord, USB 2.0 cable....

Holds lots of Music, Pictures, "Instructional Videos" (wink, wink)...

Let me know...I can accept Paypal for your protection, or if you are nearby Orange Cty, Rockland Cty, or Westchester Cty we can meet up.

Got anything interesting to trade? I am slowly but surely building a new gaming rig, and have been buying parts off friends as they upgrade. I can't get the wife to free up the funds to go whole hog all at once...

all i have are out dated parts that aren't worth bartering unless you're into that kind of thing. either way, it's an IDE drive, im looking for an eSATA.

I didn't even know you could "backup" the videos stored on those badboys. Some kind of hack I assume?

honestly, im really not sure but i sure as hell would like to try plugging a drive in and seeing what happens. im sure that when backed up, its encrypted in such a way that only the DVR it came from can play it.

Optimum Customer Support ID# 2135 - Expanding DVR storage with an eSATA Drive

there's all the info right there. now, as to the different kinds of hard drives.....

i wonder if the DVR would recognize a regular SATA HD with its own power supply straight into the eSATA port.....
