now that hallowlan has come and gone, what did you guys think? what do you think could have been better? all feed back is welcome!

First off, I think we need to thanks Popsikle and Psifire for setting this up.

That being said, I think we need to post the main games we will be playing before hand so we can buy the games before the LAN.
Also, for the next LAN we should come up with a flier that we can post at local game stores and schools, as well as banners that we can post in our sigs on other sites.

I got the call last minute to work this weekend, so me and johnny donate our cash. I finally had time to check in so I just wanted to see how it went

I really can't take any credit for this one aside from finding the hotel way back when. Pop did all the setup (I offered but most of the shit was done already when I got there), made ALL the arrangements for the hotel including arranging the extra time, and doing ALL the servers. If you want to send women, sent them to him (tho make sure they're Bi so Pam gets some loving too).

We have a good core group of people that like to come. All we need to do now is spread the love and get some others to join us and see what we do is bloody FUN.

I think the main thing we all noticed was the need to lay out what games we were going to play. I'd suggest for JanLAN, we assigne a "focus" game for each day so people know to get those games before hand, set them up and have them ready to go before LAN so we don't psned half the time setting up and figuring out what to play.

TF2 and HL2-DM were two popular items, mostly because we all had HL2-DM. Perhaps for JanLAN we set TF2 as one day, and say, BF2 as the other. Of course if people like to play something else on the side for a little bit, then thats always an option too. Nothing says you HAVE to play the game of the day. Shit, I spent half the day fucking about in EVE again.

1.) No more starting at midnight.  Maybe in 2010 if we grow our base of people a little more.
2.) Official games and loose schedule
3.) More advertisement and such
4.) Lock internet down to AIM/XFIRE/IRC
5.) Make sure people know all of the Steam games they have MUST run in off line mode.

If you are willing to allow use of the aircard, then yeah, control internet and what people can access, etc. Also use a managed switch to monitor what port is sucking assloads of band, and cut em off it becomes a problem.
