DVD backup troubles
« on: October 06, 2008, 05:55:38 AM »
I am trying to make a backup of a DVD using DVDshrink, however once it gets past the menus I get an error about disc redundancy.  I also tried DVD decrypter and copying the files manually.  All with the same error.  However the disc plays fine and I am able to watch with no issue.

Is this some kind of new copy protection or something, cause I can't find any info when searching.

It kinda sounds like the image you are trying to burn was not made correctly and it does not match its crc.  It might have something to due with the copy protection or just be a bad source disk.

Have you ever heard of this kind of copy protection?  I didn't find any info when searching about it and the disc I was trying to back up was nearly brand new.

Sounds weird
Did you try making an ISO of it? And burning from that?

I remember back in the day companies used to make the cd's fail crc testing but still work as it would make NERO bluescreen in windows so its not unheard of...
