About Me: Well, where do we start, hmmm..
I was founder of a small LAN group named "CaffeineLAN", that is based out of the NY-Metro region. We (CaffeineLAN) have been throwing LAN parties for about 10 years now, and have had our ups and downs doing them. In that time, most of us have "grown up" making it difficult to throw as many parties as we wished so a change was needed. That change is CoalitionLAN. But thats the future, lets talk a bit about my past.
This is the story of CaffeineLAN crew...
It started waaaaaaaay back in high school. And we haven’t grown up since!!
We at CaffeineLAN started throwing LAN parties somewhere near the middle of 1999. The first time is fuzzy as is anything from senior year in high school or most of college

It was just us. The 5 or 6 of us that liked to play video games. I think the first games we reeeaaallly wanted to network play was Age of Empires. We had all played that game a lot, even commandeered one of the computer labs at Dutchess Community College to play it together. Previous to this we had really only played LAN style when we installed quake and doom in high school (I am sure all of you have done that on the school computers...don’t lie, I saw you.) So we got a lot of Mountain Dew and some Jolt All came over my house (Popsikle) and stayed awake and playing games for a few days. Who needed school, we got games!!!
Well, not much has changed since then. The location has changed quite a few times since back then, Iamnobody's house was popular for a while, I got an apartment in the Village of Wappingers, and we had our "Tuesday Night Frag Fest". Nobody ever had anything to do on Wednesdays for some reason, so we decided Tuesday as a good day to LAN. This was the first LAN party we put on any site; the first one we let the public in...Well we had some people interested in our LAN in Wappingers; we never realized the LACK of LAN parties in the Hudson Valley because we always had one. One Tuesday some kids from Hudson even decided to come down, and had such a great time, they have been at every public and non public LAN since then (enter Product500 and deadguyperesz). At this point my younger brother and his friends were coming of age, well their parents finally trusted us to take care of them for a night or two of gaming

We had grown. We went from 4 or 5 people to a steady 15. Room was tight. 15 people is a tight fit for most places, except my parents house!!!! In order to keep gaming, I showed up one day at my parents, and put 6 tables in their living room. My dad came home and was a little pissed, but since he likes to play battlefield, homeworld, command and conquer his anger was subdued by the wanting to play games. Shortly after that we knew we had to get a venue, somewhere, and have a massive LAN party. We were looking around for a place, and out on 44 near planet wings, there was a vacant karate place. We spoke to the owners, and rented the spot for Friday(Feb 28th, 2003)->Monday(March 3rd, 2004) and planned the biggest LAN we've ever thrown. Space was limited to 40 people because of budget restraints, we had 45 register, and 32 prepay. Only 20 showed up... I am not sure why, but It is pretty common for that to happen. You live and you learn.
Since then we have been just chillen, playin our games in small LANs and such as well as planning the next event. We try and be all about the games, we don’t compete in leagues to win, we compete to have fun, after all that’s what got us where we are now.
I currently am playing lots of web based games, travian, astoempires, and some others. When I get time for real gaming I ply Eve-Online and Navy Fields. Im just waiting for SC2 and ut2k7 to come out so I can actually get back to the style of games I love crazy future based RTS and fraggin people
