Everyone loves to hate on Vista, yet...
« on: July 09, 2008, 04:41:13 AM »
After upgrading my desktop I installed Windows XP Media Center Edition.  I had problems getting it to display at the proper resolution of my 27" LCD TV.  Also, it operated very slowly even with 2GB of RAM and an Athlon X2 processor.  And while watching tv it would skip every 10 seconds.

I decided to throw Vista Home Premium on there to try it out and wow.  It picked up on the native resolution of my LCD Tv and displayed properly even without installing video drivers.  The system as a whole seems much faster, and watching TV in Media Center is smooth as silk.

So for everyone who says Vista sucks, I say BS.

i haven't had the slightest problem with vista yet. 99% of the complaints i have read are user error, not vistas fault. fuck stupid people....my machine runs faster and boots faster then any other machine i've had run on xp, i'll tell you that. and when i log in i don't have to wait 10 minutes for it to start everything and idle, i have to wait maybe 3 seconds for an idle and i can start doing everything normally. at first i was skeptical of vista, but i think i did myself a disservice by listening to the hype and waiting so long to try it. hell, i love it and def won't go back

I purchased a new laptop with Vista on it and immediately went about converting it back to XP. Alas, there were certain drivers I needed for hardware bits that nobody has put out in an XP version. I lost a lot of functionality and decided to throw Vista back on it. I've not had any issues what so ever, and it even has the handy 'Diagnose and Repair' option to tell you what you fucked up on... like accidentally turning off your wifi switch. :D

I'll stick with XP till I can't use it anymore
And eventually go to Vista, or maybe just go to Windows 7.

Lot of people have trouble with vista.. But its no vista causing the problem.. People just
A) Got used to xp.. its its 7 years old...
B) Old Printers/Scanner/copiers. That the manufacture does not want to make drivers for... that don't work on vista
C) People are retarded as well.

I think the main problem with vista is there is/was no need to get a new windows OS.  Most people dont have more then 4GB of ram and XP still runs perfectly on most machines.
