Cool. If I don't get a chance to play with PXE before the next LAN I'd love to get an "under the hood" look at how you have it setup.

Well, finally got this thing to boot to CD.  Had to use an official Microsoft Windows CD.  Apparently, none of the other CD's are bootable in this PC, even though they work fine in other, newer PC's

Were you using burned copies of XP? Because there's always a possibility that the drive was being finicky about booting off of burned media. I wouldn't put it past a computer/drive that age.

I tried 3 Dell recovery CD's. XP pro, XP pro SP1, and XP pro SP2.  We burned an XP disc and tried an XP disc that was burned previously. 

And on top of it all, the hdd is shot.  Formating fails.  So I spent all that time for nothing.
