I can't even remember how I came into contact with The Heavy Machine, or 7hm as it is now called. I know the first THM party I was ever at was 7.0. Since that time, 7hm has grown, and the LAN scene has changed. I do miss the old days where people just got together to have fun. I can't wait to see how this turns out.
I am the director of NJ Lan Party.com. It is a website for a local bunch of guys, centered around North Jersey. Since I started the site in 2002, times have changed. It is a lot harder to get people to get out of their house for a LAN Party. I hope this colition will change that. Lets bring FUN back to the LAN scene.
I enjoy all kinds of gaming. This includes board games, card games, strategy games, and computer games. I attend gaming conventions throughout the year, and I am the LAN Tournament Director for a convention called Ubercon in New Jersey and Michigan. My current game of choice is Battlefield 2.
I work as a User Representative for a Database in a transportation company.
I started programming classes in the early 1980s on PET’s and VIC-20’s. In 1985, I helped teach MIT LOGO to 7-14 year old kids at a summer computer camp on Apple IIs. I love how simple the language was. I still have the books we used in the class. In 1986 – 1988, I ran a Star Trek related BBS (Bulletin Board System) called 634-TREK in the Stockton CA. area. While I use MS FrontPage to organize the nitty-gritty details of my site, I do most of my HTML coding by hand. The “code” for the site is in ASP with SQL all over the place, and some integrated PHP apps. I would love to learn PHP, but I just do not have the time.
